Putting on a bra every day is kind of the worst, but it’s also a fact of life for most women. And like everything you wear, it has to be washed semi-regularly.

The best practice is washing a bra after you’ve worn it three times, experts told Buzzfeed. And, of course, if you’re sweating in a sports bra, throw it straight in the laundry.

It’s also a good idea to rotate the bras you wear, according to Elle. Why? Otherwise sweat, dirt, oil, and bacteria starts to accumulate on your bra straight from your skin. What a lovely image! But it’s also probably the one thing that’ll convince us to wash them more often.

Pack a Power Lunch

People often talk about breakfast being the most important meal of the day but lunch can be just as instrumental in a successful, productive afternoon.  Eating a carb loaded heavy meal mid day can mean struggling to make it through that afternoon meeting.  Instead pack a lunch design to help you coast through the day.

Stock up on protein:  Protein is a slow burning fuel that will help you stay full longer, balance blood sugar and give you sustained energy.  Good choices include lean chicken, hard boiled eggs, cheese, nut butters, protein powders and tofu.

Focus on Healthy Fats:  Your brain is made of 60% fat so providing it with healthy fats keeps it functioning at its best.  High fat foods also increase feeling of satiety leaving you feeling satisfied longer, decreasing those afternoon trips to the vending machine.  Salmon, avocado, nut butters, Greek yogurt or nuts are just a few great choices for your lunch.

Avoid simple carbs:  Simple carbs like white pasta or white rice are quickly absorbed in the body leading to blood sugar swings.  Complex carbs like brown rice, whole wheat pasta, fruit, vegetables and whole grain breads pack in more nutrients than simple carbs, because they are higher in fiber and digest more slowly. Have you ever felt the urge to fix someone? And by fix I mean observe their circumstances and tell them what you think they’re doing wrong and exactly how you think they should fix it?

We’ve all done it. We’re all guilty.

Especially with close friends or family.

“If he would only listen to me and do what I say then everything would work out just fine!”

Sound familiar?

I was having tea with a good friend the other week (let’s call her Sally), and she was relating with much exasperation the story of how her sister was wasting her life in her corporate job when she was SO creative and should be working for herself in a creative role. And then she would be happy (according to Sally). Which apparently she’s not (according to Sally).

Sally went on further to say (with as much exasperation) that she had called her and conveyed this opinion to her sister. Because Sally felt she was right and that her sister needed saving. Not surprisingly, it was not v…

Buying Organic

People often lament to me the high cost of organic fruits and vegetables.  I definitely feel their pain.  I know my grocery bill has significantly increased since I began focusing on buying organic.  However, I do feel buying organic is important to decrease our exposure to harmful toxins for ourselves, the environment and the farmers growing our food.  But what if it is just not financially feasible for you to buy everything organic?  Are there some specific areas you should focus on?

When working with clients, I ask them to think about a few different areas when deciding to buy organic.  For products that you or your children consume on a daily basis, buying organic, if at all possible, is definitely advisable.  When my boys were little, they consumed volumes of milk on a daily basis so this was an product I tried to always buy organic (or at least hormone free).  Think carefully about your overall diet and switch those items that make a daily appearance to organic.

Also, items that are higher up on the food chain like meat are important to buy organic.  Livestock that is fed a conventional diet of corn and other grains have greater exposure to the toxi…

I’m so excited! It’s time to share with you my third video working with Active Sussex as This Girl Can Sussex Ambassador – and this time we went trampolining!

Not just any old trampolining either, we went down to the newly opened Sky High trampoline park in Peacehaven to have a go at BounceFit – a new high intensity, low impact MEGA FUN fitness class that had me sweating out of my eyes and laughing all the way through.

BounceFit is on every Monday 7-8pm and Wednesday mornings 10-11am and costs £7.50 per class – a 35 minutes of ‘work’ and the rest of the time is yours for a free bounce!

It’s literally the MOST fun I’ve ever had at a fitness class, (something finally tipping Zumba for the top spot), and because everything you do is on a nice soft, springy trampoline, your joints will love you and you’ll go home grinning like a cat on catnip.

Where else can you so freely go back to being a child?! Come and play… you know you want to!
