We’ve all cringed while looking at photos we’re in—we’d like to forget all about the school photos we took during our awkward years. But for some, those pics can lead to a serious downward spiral of self-harm.

In a viral post on Instagram, Megan Jayne Crabbe (a.k.a. @bodyposipanda) shares a photo from three years ago that made her feel so awful about her body that she began crash dieting. Today she’s the same size she was back then. The only difference is she’s learned to embrace her body. As Crabbe writes, “The problem is not your body, the problem is how you’ve been taught to view your body.” Check out the rest of her kick-ass message below:
