For any eating plan to be successful, we know that it must have two components: realistic and sustainable. It sounds great on paper, but when your plan looks like a steady diet of chicken, broccoli, and cardboard, it’s easy to shift off the plan.
In order to encourage sanity, we created this recipe—to tame your natural craving for something sweet —with a new twist of protein granola. It’s the perfect option for breakfast, a snack, or even dessert.
Why it’s a Healthy Recipe
Not only are apples lower in sugar compared to tropical fruits, they’re also full of pectin, a combination fiber that has a long list of health benefits. It can help with weight control to lowering cholesterol to preventing gallstones.
Instead of regular yogurt, we used Greek yogurt, which is loaded with more protein and also contains probiotics, which promote beneficial gut flora. This good bacteria will keep your immune system strong and can also help with digestive issues.

Okay so there’s something I’ve been hiding from you guys lately. Well two things actually. This wasn’t intentional, it just hasn’t come up in any of my recent posts but now I will share.
I’m a champion and in love with a water cooler.
Did I just win the award for the most random sentence you’ve read today? I think I probably did.
Let me take a step back and explain…
So, I dusted off my old soccer cleats and shinguards and joined a women’s soccer league in Charleston! If you know me, you know I played soccer my whole life from age 5 until senior year in high school. After college, I became a soccer coach and personal trainer. Since then I’ve dabbled in co-ed leagues here and there but hadn’t been on a team for about the last 5 years.
Well I joined the Charleston Women’s Soccer League a few months ago and played in the spring season.
I was nervous at first to see if I could get back out there and do okay and guess what?!?!
Playing soccer again was like riding a bike!
I’m not going to lie I was totally out of shape cardio wise…and still don’t feel like I could make it through a whole game without feeling winded but that’s why I love soccer. It’s such an unbelievable full body workout! After the first couple games, my whole body was sore.
I wore my Apple Watch one soccer game and found that I ran 3 miles in one game. BOOM!
Anyway….

With the meat of summer quickly approaching now is the the time for us to stock up on our Vitamin D. Vitamin D is often called the “sunshine vitamin” because our body needs exposure to sunlight for its production. These days, people are spending more time inside and even when they do go outside, are slathering themselves with sunscreen. Dark skinned people have less ability to convert sunshine to Vitamin D then light skinned people and the sunshine for people living in the northern climates (above Los Angeles) is often not strong enough to stimulate production, particularly in the winter. These factors contribute to what many are calling a Vitamin D deficiency epidemic.
Vitamin D deficiency has now been associated with Seasonal Affective Disorder, breast cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer</a…
