Why Chasing Happiness Won’t Make You Happy

“Happiness is like a butterfly, the more you chase it, the more it will evade you, but if you notice the other things around you, it will gently come and sit on your shoulder.” ~Henry David Thoreau

Most of us are always on the lookout for a big breakthrough—a point in our life where the beam balance tips to maximal happiness so we can enjoy everlasting bliss. What can we do to get there?

Our pursuit of happiness is like a coyote chasing a roadrunner. But what happens? Just like the roadrunner, happiness slips out of our hands every single time. This leads us to a few questions…

What if the pursuit of happiness is never-ending? Have we ever considered the caveats of <a href="https://tinybuddha.com/blog/stop-chasing-happiness-17-alternative-ways-l…

Research into the Mechanisms of Aging is Very Poorly Funded in Comparison to its Importance to Health

Source https://www.fightaging.org/archives/2020/10/research-into-the-mechanisms-of-aging-is-very-poorly-funded-in-comparison-to-its-importance-to-health/

Research into aging is sparsely funded in comparison to research into the biochemistry and treatment of any specific common age-related disease, such as atherosclerosis or Alzheimer’s disease. Yet these conditions are caused by aging. So we have the strange situation in which the past century of work on treating age-related conditions has produced only small gains, because the research and development communities have steadfastly refused to work on the root cause of these conditions – which is to say the mechanisms of aging, the accumulation of cell and tissue damage that causes degeneration and dysfunction.

This problematic and frustrating state of affairs is slowly changing, and more rapidly in the past few years, but the gains made by patient advocates and the small community of …

A New Exercise Method to Naturally Boost Your Energy

Source https://www.sonima.com/fitness/fitness-articles/elev8-your-energy-a-total-body-tune-up/

Folks, we are tired. This is probably not a (yawn!) news flash. The average American gets less sleep than 20 years ago. One-third of us report sleeping less than seven hours a night. And that doesn’t include moms with young kids, for whom anything approaching seven hours sounds like nirvana. Add increasing levels of stress to chronic sleep deprivation, and you get a national fatigue nightmare. No wonder that 15 percent of women and 10 percent of men reported low energy and being “very tired or exhausted” most days of the week in a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report from 2013.

While there are numerous valid medical reasons for fatigue and exhaustion (thyroid issues, clinical depression, poor nutrition, heart conditions, and medicine side effects, to name just a few), many of us otherwise healthy Americans still feel like we’re running on fum…

Erupting Acne? Destructive Dandruff? Fight Back with Volcanic Ash

Source https://greatist.com/live/volcanic-ash

There’s no shortage of shocking ingredients found in high end beauty products around the world. The fear factor certainly doesn’t seem to deter consumers from using substances like snail mucus and bee venom. But what about something as scary as volcanic ash?

If it evokes thoughts of slathering yourself with scalding-hot lava, don’t worry. It’s actually a soothing ingredient also known as bentonite clay. Compared to some cringe-worthy concoctions, it’s pretty tame — but effective.
